Unemployed Story #2071: Timothy, -Illinois

Democrats and Mr. Obama - wake up. Quit trying to negotiate with the Christiofascist Rethuglicans who seek solely to render to powerless. Get this passed and out them for playing games with you and our country. And Mr. Obama, sham on you for suggesting a pay freeze on govt employees. You seem to be up on how business works - why would the talented people we want to solve our country's problems want to work for teh gove when the ones that can get a wall street or banking job with the huge bonuses subsidized by our taxes want to stick around? Disgusting that working Americans sacrifice and you try to work with a party hell bent on giving the rich a tax break we definitely cannot afford. Grow a f-ing spine!!

Unemployed Story #2069: Terry, Colorado Springs-Colorado

I lost my corporate job 1 year ago, and have been laid off by Corp America 3 times in 10 years. Why do the rich get all the breaks and the professional hard workers, to no fault of their own, lose their jobs to India, China, and Mexco? We need jobs, not to be put out on the streets in the middle of the winter. No unemployment means no money to pay the utility bill, the car payment, put gas in the car to look for jobs, or have a roof over our heads. Desperate people do desperate things, and helping those who work hard also helps put money back into the economy. How are we to deal with millions on the streets?

Allmost 3 years the job i had for 24 years moved there manufacturing out of ct to ohio due to high taxes i havent had a check in 4 months lost my house and my car and cant even put food on the table.A tier 5 would have been great because us 99 ers the longer we are out of work the harder it is to find a job and a tier 5 would have given companies a tax break if they higher a 99 er its to bad it didnt pass because we need something like that to help us out.

Unemployed Story #2059: paulette, Akron-Ohio

Husband runs out of his first 26 weeks has had not extensions but he does not qualify because he in not out by nov 20th but he runs out Dec 5th. This is BS. I am one of the lucky ones still working and I thank the Lord for this but becasue of the lay off I had to pick up insurance from my job so now I bring home 125 less week. Is any one in Congress going with out pay? How many people are now drawing welfare or finding reasons to get disablity? Do we not pay for this? Loving wife from OH who's hubby has only had 3 job in his life, one of the loyal to my employer people left. Same job since High School till 2000 when jobs started getting out sourced. Lets quit paying for the Anchor babies, and other programs like this.

Unemployed Story #2055: Ronald, Arlington-Massachusetts

I have been out 2 years

I am certainly not lazy or just bumming. I have sent out Thousands of resumes and worked with close to one hundred recruiters. I have interviewed quite often, but always someone that is a better 'fit' is selected. It has been very depressing, but I always keep going. I will never give up. But I need the TIER V to be able to keep going.

Unemployed Story #2053: Janet, Woburn-Massachusetts

VOTE TIER V and extend UI for all. We the unemployed have suffered enough. Unless there are enough good jobs (to support a family) available before the end of November, we need extensions. We the unemployed have a voice and want to finally be heard.

Get this passed. This will be another stimulus for the already building inventories from retailers. Sales are too low! Move it!

Unemployed Story #2044: Jon, Cape Elizabeth-Maine

43 years old, laid off for the first time in my life the end of May 2010 (local small business closed in its 30th year, I was there 13 years) Solid work history & was making $23/hr with great benefits now I can't even find an entry level job with no benefits. My 26 weeks run out December 4th. Unemployment doesn't pay much but it keeps us from losing our home(barely) and provides the basic necessities. Bail outs to Wall Street did nothing....my employers through the years paid UI in and rarely laid any off & all I get is 26 weeks & then I'm cut off? Why make the middle class suffer for a mess they didn't create?!

Minimum Wage

Workers in BMW's auto plants in Germany make twice as much as US workers in BMW plants who make $15 an hour. Oh and by the way German workers get 35 days of vacation AND decent healthcare.

The tea party want to abolish the minimum wage. Did YOU VOTE?
