Saving On Your Lighting Energy Bills.

Using up energy does not only relate to the amount of bills one has to pay but is also the foundation to everything one does. Saving energy is a prerequisite and a practice that all of us should adopt, mostly because of the increasing monthly bills. According to a research, in a usual household 44% of the electricity bill consists of heating and cooling systems; One Third goes to lighting and other appliances; 14% goes to heating the water; and the rest belongs to the refrigerator. Paying attention to the power distribution can help you ensure that you save the maximum amount of energy and decrease your bills

The cheapest form of lights is the sun, working close to the windows by using natural light will help in saving energy as artificial light will not be required.

Another simple thing to do is to switch the lights off whenever you go out of the room, even though if you are going out for a little while.

Using reflective backings in fluorescent lights helps maximize the light which is generated.

Use compact fluorescent lights. Both 4-watt minifluorescent lights and 40-watt fluorescent lights give out the same amount of light as each other.

As discussed earlier the ideal thing to do is to turn off all and unplug all appliances when they are not being used . Chargers should also be unplugged and not be left on standby as they use energy when they have been plugged but not being used.
