So you're worried about your state's future. Unemployment is high, growth is slow, etc. Well, things could be worse; you could be living in California where yes, unemployment is high and growth is slow, but it's also where Republican gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman pledges to eliminate, outsource and downsize tens-of-thousands of jobs. And she has the experience to do just that -- when she was eBay CEO from hell, she slashed jobs and shipped 40% of her workforce overseas... all while giving herself huge bonuses and flashy perks.

The scene is California's 2010 gubernatorial race, and it's not exactly the stellar star casting of Scorsese or Coppola... no, it's has-been Jerry Brown vs. liar-liar-pantsuit-on-fire Meg Whitman.

"Unemployment Rate falls in 39 states in June" Gee, sounds like such good news, doesn't it? It's an Associated Press headline that's been picked up by most news outlets. But the real truth is in the first paragraph, that frankly most people including Republican lawmakers won't read: "The unemployment rate fell in most states in June, mainly because more people gave up searching for work and were no longer counted."

It goes on to say... Fewer states saw job increases, the latest evidence that the economic recovery is slowing.

The jobless rate declined in 39 states and Washington, D.C. last month, the Labor Department said Tuesday. That's a slight improvement from May, when 37 states saw their rates decline.

But only 21 states saw net job gains in June, the government said. That compared to 41 the previous month and is the fewest this year.

July 18, 2010 On July 5 we at NoJobSurvivor sent a short note to the Whitehouse, Office of the Speaker of the House and Office of the Leader of the Senate, asking them to view our petition in progress and some of the stories of the unemployed we have collected and published on the site. To date we havent received a response from the Speaker or Senate Leader. We DID receive a response from the WhiteHouse and include it below for your comment. Enjoy.
