Investment bank Goldman Sachs today announced a pay and bonus pot of 5.49 billion dollars (£3.56 billion) as it posted a steep hike in profits for the first three months of the year.
Meanwhile... the Tories and the Liberal Democrats in the UK began an investigation into the Wall Street giant's operations in London, stating that Goldman Sachs should be suspended from working for the UK Government until the outcome of a fraud case brought against the investment bank by US regulators is known.
