Unemployment, the foreclosure crisis, and Wall St. corruption is crippling the US and now the Republicans have taken the majority in the House. What is their plan to help turn things around? Dave Johnson of OurFuture.org recaps their mind-set on jobs:
Now Republicans Must Deliver JOBS
The election is over and it was about one thing: jobs, jobs, jobs, jobs, jobs. Democrats didn't deliver enough jobs so they got tossed. That pretty much sums it up. So now the Republicans have to deliver jobs.
Republicans in the campaign said the stimulus didn't work and actually cost jobs.
They said government spending cost jobs.
They said the "size" of government cost jobs.
They said taxes cost jobs.
They said deficits cost jobs.
They said helping the states cost jobs.
They said helping the unemployed cost jobs.
And now they have to deliver jobs. LOTS of jobs. Enough jobs to bring unemployment down significantly.
Let's see how they do.
What are their plans?
Speaker-presumed Boehner said the first priority is to repeal the health care bill. Not jobs.
