1111imagesWhat to Ask In a Job Interview

You landed a job interview -- Congratulations! They're not easy to come by these days, to say the least!

We know you want to do your best, so here's a list of suggested questions that may help you find out more about the position and the organization/company, and increase your chances of getting hired. Note -- some of these questions are appropriate for non-profit organizations:

  • Why is the position available?
  • How many people have held this position in the last five years?
  • What are the most challenging aspects of the position?
  • How do you see this position changing, if any, in the next five years?
  • Are there opportunities for professional development or training?
  • What is the employee turnover rate?
  • How financially sound is the organization?
  • How many grants do you rely on and what is the overall status of grant funding?
  • What is the organization's long term and short term goals?
  • How would you describe the work environment?
  • Why do you enjoy working for here?
  • When do you expect to make your hiring choice?
  • What are the next steps?

And... on the completion of the interview, you may want to say / ask:
"Thank you so much for this opportunity; I am extremely interested in the position. Is there any reason why you wouldn't consider hiring me?"
