Way before the Chinese invented money, people bartered for goods and services. If you needed bricks to build a house, you probably would have bartered some of your corn to get them, and maybe your wife's weaving could've been bartered for thatching of the roof. Now, in these days of anything-goes-to-survive, bartering is back. Look at: barter of resume writing for some web design on this blog between the two professionals: Louise and Laura. Their recommended exchange links are below, although I don't necessarily endorse them. A quick google finds lots of these exchanges out there on the web. Some are subscription or fee based, and some are free, but in principle they all work the same way. One registers and lists what skills or products that can be bartered and the parameters around the exchange. Does any one know if the taxman has caught up with bartering yet?
