I used to love my gym. I am not a fitness freak but loved to sweat and mediate and zone-out on the bike without worrying about traffic or work some weights staring at the ceiling. Well the gym membership is gone and community gyms are so grungy. ![]()
If you feel you can no longer afford a gym try turning your everyday world into a gym.
Walk Walk Walk. Take a brisk walk every day, whether it's a path through your neighborhood or laps in a local park. Take the stairs instead of the elevator, or make a full workout of climbing the stairs. Park futher away from your destination adding steps to yoru brisk walk.
Household chores are a great workout. Any home activity that increases your heart rate is good exercise. Mow the lawn, weed the garden, rake the leaves or shovel the snow. Even indoor activities such as vacuuming and scrubbing count as a workout if you increase your heart rate.
Fun workouts. Dance. Take a family bike ride.
