I used to love my gym. I am not a fitness freak but loved to sweat and mediate and zone-out on the bike without worrying about traffic or work some weights staring at the ceiling. Well the gym membership is gone and community gyms are so grungy. Woman stretching on a beach

Take Advantage of Everyday Opportunities

If you feel you can no longer afford a gym try turning your everyday world into a gym.

Walk Walk Walk. Take a brisk walk every day, whether it's a path through your neighborhood or laps in a local park. Take the stairs instead of the elevator, or make a full workout of climbing the stairs. Park futher away from  your destination adding steps to yoru brisk walk.

Household chores are a great workout. Any home activity that increases your heart rate is good exercise. Mow the lawn, weed the garden, rake the leaves or shovel the snow. Even indoor activities such as vacuuming and scrubbing count as a workout if you increase your heart rate.

Fun workouts. Dance. Take a family bike ride.

Invest Modestly

These inexpensive exercise products are good fitness bargains:

  • Dumbbells. Dumbbells are small, hand-held weights that you can use to strengthen your upper body.
  • Resistance tubing. These stretchy tubes offer weight-like resistance when you pull on them. Use the tubes to build strength in your arms and other muscles.
  • Skipping ropes. Skipping rope can be a great cardiovascular workout, especially skipping with your kids.

Good luck. Add your ideas to reduce your fitness expenses.

No Job Frugal Living - Frugal Ideas

Minimum Wage

Workers in BMW's auto plants in Germany make twice as much as US workers in BMW plants who make $15 an hour. Oh and by the way German workers get 35 days of vacation AND decent healthcare.

The tea party want to abolish the minimum wage. Did YOU VOTE?
