Now, here are a few tips on saving computer energy from NRDC:

  • Set Sleep Mode.
  • Get Rid of the Screen Saver, "sleep" instead.
  • Shut off the Monitor - monitors are power hungry especially older glass CRTs. Is it time for a newer LCD monitor?
  • Plug Into a Smarter Power Strip - it will protect your computer from surges and brownouts AND shutdown all those blinking lights.
